Nowadays many people are often discouraged, saying "It's too bad" or "It's too difficult," rather than saying "It's hopeful." But we are trying to create hope through the words of hope.
During the Second World War, it was London where the German air force first bombed. The newspapers were full of discouraging news, reporting "We were bitterly bombed yesterday." Spreading that kinds of reports, people in London were more discouraged and in despair. Recognizing that the bad news was not good, the chief editors assembled and resolved that they would report the news of hope largely.
The next day, the newspapers were full of the news of hope. The people gradually became hopeful and finally winned the war. If we say despair, we will be more in despair. If we say hope, we will be more hopeful.
